Summary:

Road trip through the spectacular Torres del Paine National Park, photograph Patagonia wildlife in their natural settings (such as guanacos, rheas, and condors), a navigation to Grey Glacier in Torres del Paine National Park, visit South America’s only King Penguin colony & a visit to one of the oldest traditional Chilean working ranches (Estancia) - all while travelling through Patagonian countryside and pampa. 

Itinerary:

Day 0

Punta Arenas

March 29th airport pick up and transport to the hotel in NORGUEIRA. Your local Guide Cristobal will meet  with you to discuss the details of the next days. After questions and details you will be on your own for dinner and we will start day 1 of the tour on the 30th of march.

This night is NOT included.

Day 1

King Penguin National Park

Pick you up at 7:30 am to take the ferry a cross the straight of Magellan ,a 2 hour navigation, with good chance to see dolphins, sea birds and maybe even whales. Once we cross, we start driving the 2 hours to the penguin colony (box Lunch on the way with drinks and snacks). We should arrive around 1 pm to the king penguin colony and after an hour and a half walk checking out the second largest penguins we start the drive back to Porvenir to have dinner in a local restaurant and stroll around town preparing  for the return ferry trip at 8pm ( depending on the wind) arriving at 10:30 in the hotel

Day 2

Visit to Fuerte Bulnes

Pick up at 8 am after breakfast in the hotel. We will walk around Punta Arenas check out the plaza de armas and drive south ouit of Punta Arenas, It's a 45 minute drive to visit Fuerte Bulnes, if the weather is nice we can walk the grounds of the replica version of the first Chilean settlement in  patagonia...then we continue to the end of the road where we can have lunch and walk along the beach looking for whales, dolphoins and other native fuana drive back to PUQ for dinner at La Cuisine

Day 3

Visit Puerto natales and arrival at the National park Torres del paine

Pick up at 8 am after breakfast at the hotel and start the drive to Torres del Paine. After 3 hours we arrive to Puerto Natales where we will stop for lunch in a local restaurant and stretch our legs then we jump back in the van and drive the southern route to enter Torres Del Paine National Park. We stop at all the lookouts en route arriving around 7 pm in the Hotel Lago Grey .(dinner in the hotel).

Day 4

Glacier Grey from up close

Breakfast in the hotel , after that you will take the first Navigation on the GREY III head up lago Grey towards Glacier Grey, the trip is about an hour depending on weather. You will arrive and be met by the BIGFOOT crew  who will prep you for the kayaking trip for a closer look at Grey Glacier...it is a 3 hour activity and weather dependent  if any member of our team doesn't want to kayak they can hike up to the look out to take pictures of the group from the mirador. We will have lunch in Grey refugio. After lunch you will walk to refugio Paine Grande a 4.5 hour moderate trek. Night in refugio Paine Grande with all meals included.

 

Day 5

Full day Valley Frances

After breakfast, the earlier the better, ask for your box lunch and start your adventure in the direction of Valle Frances, it's about 3 hours of easy trail to CONAF camp at Italiano , from there the trek gets more demanding and is around 2 hours to the look out where you can sit have lunch and enjoy the constant rumble of  avalanches from glaciar Frances in front of you. After lunch start heading back to Paine Grande to be back by 6pm in time for the 6:30 catamaran which takes you across lago Pehoe where your Driver/Guide Cristobal will be waiting to take you to Las Torres area for 2 night s in the refugio with all meals included. This is a Private Estancia in the park , with horses and great place to walk around and take pictures and also the chance to see pumas

Day 6

Three towers viewpoint / wildlife Safari

Wake up 20 minutes before dawn in hopes of see the colorful sunrise on the Torres, the ones who want to go for the Trek to Las Torres mirador ( 8 hours/20km round trip) start walking from there and anyone who wants can go instead for a driving safari to visit Laguna azul , cascada paine or go fishing on rio Serano (not included). We will meet in the refugio at the end of the day for dinner and 2nd night in Las Torres. That evening Cristobal will take you on a walk in search of pumas

Day 7

Cavepaintings, horseback ride and back to Puerto Natales

Another very early start to give it our final try for puma spotting , we will visit the rock paintings of the aonikenk tribes , it is a 3 hour walk with great views , then we leave the park and head to Laguna Sofia , here at Pingo Salvaje we will have a 3 hour horseback ride to reach one of the best places to see condors. Then back to Natales for a night in Natalino Hotel ,around 7 pm weĺl meet at BASE CAMP for pizzas and beer

Day 8

End of the trip

Pick up at 8 am to go to Milodon cave, one of the most iconic places in Puerto Natales, 20 min drive. after a walk thru the main cave and a foto with the famous milodon we drive directly to the Natales airport, say our good byes and see you off
